Thankful Thursday: An Awesome Dad

Whenever I come across Daddy Bloggers, I get all excited. Like wow, these guys actually care about their kids so much to want to spend time & write about them despite their busy schedules! I mean, it's the nature of mothers to get all sentimental and teary-eyed about their children's developments and moments, but fathers? I still find it quite rare, hence the excitement when i come across one that updates his blog often. I'm not talking about the guys that blog about e.g. cars, watches, technology and throw in a few posts about their kids. I'm talking about fathers who dedicate the WHOLE blog to their kids :)

The boy doesn't blog. Oh he started one years ago but like everything else, if you don't keep up with it often enough, you'll just let it slide. It just isn't his "thing".

However, even though he doesn't make time to blog and write down his memories of the little pumpkin and everything else, the boy does make time for many other fatherly things. And today, I want to thank him for being such an awesome dad.

Thank you for bathing {and playing in the showers!} with the little pumpkin every. single. night.

Thank you for reading with the little pumpkin.

Thank you for changing her diapers all the time whenever you are home. Heehee.

Thank you for bringing the pumpkin for weekend swims.

Thank you for making sure we have proper insurances and a good savings plan to send the pumpkin to college {finance is not really MY thing :P}

Thank you for singing the pumpkin to sleep. And for learning new nursery songs so that she will stay entertained heehee {her current faves are Old Macdonald, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star}.

Thank you for being so patient, especially during those times I am not, and for being so generous with the little pumpkin.

Of course, this list is not exhaustive :P

But seriously, sometimes as mothers, all our energy and attention is focused on our kids, and sometimes we tend to neglect our husbands {no? Or is it only me???!} Just like we always lament say that Valentine's shouldn't be the only day to show love to our partners, Father's Day shouldn't be the only day to give thanks to our hubbies for being awesome dads too.

When was the last time you said "thank you" to your hubby and appreciated him for his fatherly efforts? Not the cursory "oh, thanks", but a sincere look-him-in-the-eyes "thank you"? While you are at it, might as well say thanks to your own fathers too heh

Playing along at Kate's today!!

What a wonderful post!!! You're right. I think Moms get all the glory sometimes, but my husband is an incredible dad to our son. And it is obvious whenever my son's face lights up when he sees him!!

I think I'll have to remember to give him a real thank you tonight!

Thanks for linking up in the Whatever Wednesday hop! :)

Beautiful post.

My hub is away a lot, but when he is home he is all about our kids. I'm so grateful not only for his sacrifices so I can be home with them, but that he is such an involved and caring Dad,

RNA Khoi for linking up :)

Good on you for acknowledging your awesome husband. I too am lucky to have a great hubby who I would be lost without. I will definitely be thanking him sincerely this fathers day.

A great reminder. I'm definitely guilty of neglecting my husband, too, or so he tells me... I didn't even notice.

Awesome post!

Similarly I also feel so much when a daddy dedicates a blog to their lil ones.
I was surprise when hubby initiated a blog to document our lil butternut's milestone, but I'm definitely grateful that he is doing so.
