Things I Know: 2 shoes are better than 1

Horror story #1: You are on your way to an important meeting, but the heels of your shoes broke! You only have time to stop by and get the only footwear you see - a pair of novelty flipflops *groan*

Horror story #2: It's pouring and your shoes are soaked. You can either trudge around in squeaky wet shoes or walk barefoot around the office *double groan*

Sounds familiar? Haha yeah, I'm sure it's happened to you or a friend. That's why I'd like to share what I know - always keep an extra pair of shoes at your workplace. Actually I keep a few different footwear for different occasions. Wellingtons for rainy weather, formal pair of heels for VIP events, fancier pair of flats for smart casual events, casual flats for daily wear, and flipflops for the pool/showers at the office. A bit overboard I know heehee

It all started because my old apartment's genkan was pretty small so the shoe cabinet was small and couldn't hold all my shoes. I brought some over to the office and found that that smart move saved me {and colleagues heehee} on a few occasions :)

In Japan, I walked from my apartment to work and found it so much more comfortable to do it in walking shoes (duh!). Also, I didn't want to ruin my heels so fast, so leaving them in the office to change into was rather practical. Even at my present office, I walk around a lot off-site so it just makes sense to leave the office shoes at my desk and change into more comfy shoes.

Even if you are a SAHM, I think it's a good idea to leave an extra pair of shoes in your car. After all, we always bring an extra set of clothes for the bubs in case they dirty the clothes they are wearing, so why not take an extra care for us too?

Sharing at Shae's. What do you know today? :)

I used to walk to work too and kept my heels at my desk so I could change when I got there. So much easier than the alternative!

Very true and I often get caught with no shoes when I need I suddenly need them. Like when I've taken the kids to something barefoot and then need to pick something up form the supermarket.

Once upon a time when I worked in an office . . . I too had spare pairs of shoes! I usually have some floating around in the car too. Great tip!

LOL, when I read the title, I thought you meant two shoes (as in a pair of shoes) was better than one shoes (as in half a pair)! yes, I see your logic! I don't have an office away from home, or a car, but a spare pair (maybe even just a pair of those scrunchy ballet flats) in the pram would be a great idea!

I just found your blog via Shae's link up. Good idea about extra shoes in the car. I don't know how many times I have been caught out.

Excellent advice! When I was in the working world, I always kept an extra pair of shoes at work - now I keep an extra pair in my car since you just never know when you'll need them! :)

Have a great weekend, Ai! :)

I'm the same way, I always have different kinds of footwear in my car. I think it comes in handy, you never know when you're gonna need to change your shoes.

When I worked in an office (My cousin was my boss.) I was allowed to change into a pair of slippers(!!) if we weren't having clients that day. It was totally fab.

I almost always have an extra pair of sneakers at work. And an extra pair of socks during the rainy season or during the winter. Great advice!

My computer is down and I can't access GFC from work so I've been following on FB/Twitter - hoping people follow me back too. =D

We need to keep in touch! Family Literacy and You and Mymcbooks.wordpress.com will be hosting a Classics 4 Kids book event Sept 4-30th - we'd love to have you stop by and visit. Each week we will review a book and then give it away! =D
