in the pictures are bulgogi beef, bibimbap, pork tonkatsu cutlets (not sure of it's Korean name), Korean porridge, waffles from Lotteria {kind of fast food chain}, kimchi udon, and teriyaki beef pancake..

oh and food from Lotte World {the one with the cute cartoon container}, a theme park! I'll be posting on Lotte World this Friday :)

I"ve never had Korean food before or at least I don't think so. Here in the states, I've been to a Chinese and Japanese restaurants for dinner. Of these two cuisines I prefer Chinese. I'm going to admit it, I'm very ignorant of the various Asian style foods. Kindly tell me how closely suited is Korean cuisine to Chinese or Japanese cuisine? Thanks so much!

These look so yummy :)

I'm going to generalise and say that Korean food tends to be spicy, while Japanese food tends to be a bit "sweeter" with more seafood. And I read somewhere that Korean cuisine is a lot like Northern China cuisine e.g. from Beijing, but I haven't been to China so I can't say for sure.

China itself is so big and different in various regions. Some of my Chinese friends hardly even eat seafood because they live inland and away from the sea. Some eat more rice, some eat more buns.

But I do think that Asian cuisine is all related in some way, just that they are cooked slightly different to suit the different cultures. Eg. there's Korean Jeyook Bokeum, pork kimchi stirfry, which the Japanese adapt and eat too but with mayo sometimes.
