Bub & Me: Sentosa BBQ by the Beach!

I'm not a fan of Singapore's hot weather, but you know what's the best part about having summer all year round? Barbeques!!

Yesterday we had a fun family night out at Sentosa BBQ by the Beach! In conjunction with Sentosa's 40th anniversary celebrations, our dear resort island is having an extravaganza serving a delicious array of seafood and meat dishes prepared using different forms of BBQ - regular grill, vertical grill and....

the traditional Hawaiian underground oven, the imu. Yummy!! This is the first time I've seen it and the food produced is certainly a highlight of the event!

Tables are specially set up along a pier at Siloso Beach for you to enjoy the meal, or if you like to sink your toes into the warm sand while eating.. go ahead! The ambiance here is amazing with the sun, sand and sea as your backdrop. {Sorry for my frazzled hair, it was very windy!!}

There's stalls selling a smorgasbord of gorgeous food, which includes clams, mussels, prawns, crabs, fish etc. Meat-lovers don't despair as there's also Texas-styled ribs laced with Bourbon & beer-marinated sausages! Plus, 8 unique homemade BBQ sauces to delight your tastebuds. All you have to do is to pay for the food at the stalls using food vouchers sold at the venue.

Crispy Baby Squid, Grilled Seafood Platter and Bonito Infused Cod Fish with garlic fried rice. All these are from the stall featured in the pic just above - the Amara Sanctuary. Hubby loved the crispy baby squid.. and even went back for seconds! haha... It is a little spicy so not suitable for kids. Lil Pumpkin finished the whole plate of soft cod fish and rice though! :)

BBQ Mango Butter Crayfish {Azzura stall}, BBQ Beef Stewers {Azzura stall} and a selection of Pepes seafood cooked imu-style. The beef was very tender, and all were sooooo delicious and fresh #happybelly

Interesting vertical grill display.

You know the food is really good when Lil Pumpkin sits through the whole meal! Soft drinks, juices, beer and wine are also available.

Since we were at the beach, Lil Pumpkin had a blast after her meal building sandcastles with her daddy. You might want to bring along a set of swimwear and extra clothes for the kiddos :p

Lil Pumpkin also loved the friendly musicians serenading each table... even requested for Lady Gaga songs *roll eyes*.

Siloso Beach is right next to Songs of the Sea, the mesmerising island attraction with dramatic laser and pyrotechnic effects. You can catch a good look of the fireworks display from Sentosa BBQ by the Beach, which is a perfect end to a glorious day with the family!
