We celebrated our 4th marriage anniversary on Monday and the boy brought us out to dine at
La Luna Rossa at Scotts Square. The head chef is a Japanese and they serve an interesting fusion menu of Japanese-Italian cuisine inspired by the chef's 8-year stay in Italy. It is actually a branch of La Luna Rossa in Tokyo, Japan.
My boo and me :) Taking photos together since 2003 haha.
Lil Pumpkin came along with us, of course, and at first we were slightly worried because
La Luna Rossa is an upmarket restaurant and usually such restaurants are a bit stiff. They might not like having such a spirited toddler in the restaurant. However, the staff were all very polite and understanding. "Don't worry about her, kids are like that" the manager told us when we apologised for Lil Pumpkin singing loudly at her seat. Sweet.
Other than the great food, I love the excellent service there.
La Luna Rossa serves a bread selection with extra virgin oil at the beginning of each meal so we didn't order appetizers in case we would be too full for our mains.
However, the staff were thoughtful enough to kindly gave us complimentary prosciutto with melon in case we got hungry while waiting for our mains, which took about 20-30 mins.
I ordered the
Rossini {Roasted Wagyu Beef with seared Foie Gras, Black Truffle and Red Wine Sauce}. Oh my! It tasted as rich as it sounds and seriously, I was very satisfied with that dish. The beef was cooked perfectly to my taste as it was moist and tender, yet not too chewy. The foie gras was juicy and so heavenly too.
The boy had the
Piccione {Roasted Pigeon with Marsala Wine Sauce}, and that tasted pretty good too. Except for the drumstick, the rest of the meat was soft and juicy.
Since the restaurant doesn't seem to have a children's menu, the waiter offered to specially order for Lil Pumpkin a plate of tomato-based pasta with onions and bacon. She liked it and finished almost half... on top of the 2 pieces of bread and melon she ate earlier!
Happy 4th marriage anniversary my dear Poogeo!! Looking forward to many more years of joy, laughter and love with you *muakz muakz*
This is the special message and photo
La Luna Rossa gave us at the end of the dinner :) It really is such a simple gesture, yet left us as customers feeling so happy on our special day.
We are trying to explore a new restaurant once a month and with the gastronomic paradise that Singapore is, it really isn't that difficult. However it really is a hit-or-miss when eating at new places, and I'm glad we usually have more hits than misses.

Happy 4th wedding anniversary! Am feeling hungry after seeing those mouth watering dishes!
Happy Anniversary dear Ai and family. So sweet and loving...
Oh man, that food looks good! Happy Anniversary to you both, your anniversary is very close to ours, we celebrated 4 years on the 2nd August, taking pics together since 2002 :)
I gotta say too, even if a restaurant has good food, if the service is crap I won't go back, there is nothing worse than bad service!
Helen: I'm still thinking of my wagyu and foie gras dish!
Angeline: thank you :)
Kylez: Oh yay. Congrats to you too! that's very true.. I am quite particular on service and you've lost me once you give bad service.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy wedding anniversary!
Our is is in just over a week, so we are trying to decide what to do to celebrate.
Must be the season for weddings; it's Daisy's WA today!
Happy anniversary Ai and hubby. You make me feel old cause me and hubby will be married for 13 years next yr.
Happy Anniversary Ai! That was really sweet of the restaurant staff to be so understanding of lil Pumpkin and loved that they went the extra mile to decorate your food with the anniversary message and the photo that will serve as a keepsake. Great service.
Happy Anniversary! =) The food looks simply AWESOME and it's nice when restaurants go to the extra mile for our kids. =) Glad you had so much fun!
Happy Anniversary! I've actually been there for lunch, a while ago.
I'm considering taking Hubby to Singapore for a quick surprise trip for his 40th birthday next year, without the kids. Will have to pop in here for a special dinner if we do make it.
Lil Pumpkin looks simply divine in her special tiara!
Blessed anniversary Ai! Here's to many more fruitful and memorable years to come :)
Naw, happy wedding anni!!! Here's to many more beautiful years together!
I think I've been to La Luna in Tokyo. Japanese-Italian fusion sounds delightful.
For my birthday, we went to a Japanese-French fusion place. It was amazing!
