Prep Time:
About 1 hour
Ingredients:
1 kg mid-joint chicken wings
500ml regular Coca-Cola
For Marinade
4 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
4 tbsp sesame oil
Method:
- Mix the marinade sauce and put in a container.
- Put the chicken in the container and coat both sides, then leave in the fridge to marinate for at least 30 mins. Don't leave it out to marinade as bacteria can grow as the chicken warms up.
- Heat oil in pan and brown chicken on both sides over medium heat.
- Add the Coca-Cola and marinade then simmer for about 20 mins until the sauce thickens. Flip the chicken wings over halfway to allow the other side to absorb the sauce.
- Serve hot with garnish.
I'm not sure if Diet Coke or Coke Zero will work in this dish... I'll try it out another day but if you've cooked Coca-Cola Chicken with it before, let me know! :)
I cooked Pineapple & Kiwifruits Fried Rice for our dinner that day too. The simple recipe for that dish is here!

woot! been waiting for this recipe! thanks!
I've made it before. But I was disappointed not to taste any cola in the chicken. Thought not much difference from just using sugar. Was yours better?
Angeline: yup tell me how yours goes. The pineapple & Kiwifruits fried rice coming up tomorrow!
Estella: haha no worries. Enjoy!
Stacy: I never tried cooking chicken with sugar before but ours could taste cola. Maybe add more cola if it's not strong enough for you?
Wooo I ate this once too and was so amazed when my friend said she only used Coke to cook those delicious chicken wings. =) I should try this one day too! Thanks Ai! The rice looks healthy and yummy!
Yum! We are trying to eat more chicken and fish, so I will have to try this one out as soon as I buy some coca cola.
Yummo! Looks easy to cook too! :)
