Handmade Artisan Jewelry: Cathetel Necklace

For many years, I've been making a conscious effort to cut down on buying costume {or fashion} jewelry from stores like F21, Diva, Accesorize, Top Shop etc. I prefer to invest more in fine jewelry - quality pieces that I can keep and pass on to Lil Pumpkin. Sure, they are more expensive, but at least they are timeless and will never go out of style. My jewelry collection is part of my legacy to her.

The only exception to the no-fashion-jewelry rule is for handmade artisan jewelry where each piece is uniquely handcrafted and lovingly made by the jewelry maker, which makes it just as precious as any fine jewelry piece.

I was introduced to Fleuristes Jewelries last month and I'm very pleased to share more about them.

Fleuristes Jewelries is an online boutique that was started in September 2010 to share the owner & artisan jeweler's love and passion for handcrafted jewelries with everyone. All materials sourced carefully and are mostly imported from US, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and also the local craft shops. Each jewelry piece is conceptualized and entirely handmade with only one piece per design, hence they are very exclusive.

I'm wearing the Cathetel necklace, which is a simple, yet elegant piece. I love the subtle vintage colours and two chains across the neckline. The gold-plated leaf charms and flower beads adds a little alluring nature to the necklace to bring out the meaning of its name, which is "to love and be thankful for nature".

Even the necklace clasp is so sweet with tiny butterfly details :)  Cathetel is perfect for everyday wear, even with just a plain white T-shirt out for a day at the park or chilling at the cafe.

Can't wait to get your hands on a special handcrafted jewelry like this? Fleuristes Jewelries will be having a store at Fashion Feast Week in Downtown East.
