Lil Pumpkin loves
Japanese Kracie Popin' Cookin' food kits. Considering they are just a small box of supplies and ingredients to make candies and other snacks like cookies, gummies or cakes {there are 15 varieties}, they are a little pricey. The cheapest I saw in Singapore was S$10/box but they are easily available online as well.
This is the
Obento Candy Kit and one of Lil Pumpkin's favourite. It comes with a mini mould, fork for mixing, plastic bag for making the mini spaghetti, and sachets of powder for the flavoured gummies {soda, strawberry, orange, muscat, grape and lemon}. At the back of the box there's detailed instructions in Japanese, but it's easy to decipher what you need from the photos too.
It doesn't come with the cute mini obento box though. I was a little bummed with that :/
The kits are probably suitable for older kids. Toddlers like Lil Pumpkin definitely need assistance from adults, and can be such a fun activity to do with the them!
Basically for the
Obento Candy Kit, you pour the different sachets of gummy powder and a little water into different moulds to make shapes like brocade, a tako sausage, karaage chicken, tamago roll etc. You also need to use your hands to make tiny onigiri {rice balls}.
Lil Pumpkin and the boy happy with their work! And yes, it's all edible :) Took them about 45 minutes.

This looks cool! Allysa loves and can't stop watching their videos on how they made those gummies on youtube. It sure looks fun and now all I need is to get my hands on the set. =)

Do you actually eat it? I agree it's really fun making those.... My 6 yo has been nagging at me to open another box....
I've been seeing these toys around. But I never bought them because I'm not sure if I want my kids to be eating them.. :p
We bought one box some time ago as science experiment, am actually not keen to let my children eat the candies.
I'm so lousy at shopping! Didn't see these in Japan during our recent trip!

My SIL bought this for my kids before. It's really quite cool and interesting way to keep the kids engaged, but the thing is way too sweet, I didn't let my kids eat it when they are done!
I think I've seen these selling before in those box shops (the name escapes my mind now). The first question I also had was, eh can eat or not? So cute.
