Kawaii Japanese 3D Nail Deco Art by GardeNails

I'm co-hosting the Be Festive, Be Creative with Canon PIXMA workshop this Saturday {hope to see some of you there!} and went to get my nails done at GardeNails Nail Salon on Tuesday after work. Mal, the lovely owner of GardeNails, came up with this cute children-themed Japanese nail art design with balloons, rainbows, cheerful sparkles and dainty animals for me to match the theme of the parents-kids craft workshop. めっちゃ可愛い!I love it!

She even wrote my blog's name on one of my nails. How skillful!

It was pretty amazing to see Mal work. All the deco-nail art was done by her on-the-spot with no template or whatever. It's not pre-made / store-bought little 3D decorations that were just glued on the nails. No, she mixed monomer liquid with the acrylic powders and created all the intricate designs with her delicate brush. It was a tedious job and took about 2.5hrs to complete.

I was worried the nails won't last until the weekend what with work and *cough* household chores, but she used gelish {hybrid of nail polish and gel} polish for the base which lasts up to 3 weeks with no chipping or peeling.  The acrylic 3D nail deco's also supposed to last longer compared to glue-on crystals.

Sweet little lamb and happy blue bear on my thumbs. Seriously, I cannot stop gushing how adorable they are! Even the boy and Lil Pumpkin are very happy with the result *beams* And yes, Lil Pumpkin wanted to get her nails done too :P

My nails are not very long and Mal managed to work such wonderful magic on them. I'm a little apprehensive about co-hosting the workshop with about 70 participants. However, getting my nails pampered and ready for the workshop really pumped my energy level and I'm ready to get crafty with the parents and little kiddos! We will be making festive-related 3D photo frames, party hats and a wall clock. Maybe the participants will be so enthralled with my nails that they overlook my nervousness haha

Just for my special blog readers and friends, if you get your nails done at GardeNails and quote "Sakura", you will receive a free China Glaze Holiday Berry Cuticle Oil {worth S$12}. Apply it daily to keep cuticles and nails moisturized. It can also be applied right over dry nail polish on nails.

GardeNails is having a free gelish manicure service promotion and other great deals now too {see above}. Compared to other nail salons, I do find their prices much more affordable! For more details, check out their Facebook page.

I love your nails!!! Kawaii was the right word for them!

Your post title made me look at my sad, sad nails, and wish for some time off to go do too! I am a huge fan of soft gel manicures - cos the nails last so well despite my constant typing and erm, not so constant housework. :P
