Lil Pumpkin is very into mermaids and sea animals, and we finally went to Underwater World Singapore on Monday. Think the last time the boy and I were there was about a decade back! So yup, we were all excited about going there.
We didn't drive into
Sentosa this time, but took the train in and transferred to the island tram to reach the attraction. Pretty convenient and fast! As far as my memory takes me, I think Underwater World Singapore hasn't really changed much since my last visit. There's still the feeding pools, aquariums that allow you to put your hands in to touch the fishes, and the long travellator through a tunnel under the sea. We went round 4 times I think haha. Lil Pumpkin also enjoyed the live pink dolphins and adorable fur seals show that went on for.... just 15 minutes ><"
Nonetheless, it was still nice to feel like we were stepping into Ariel's underwater castle and see all the marine life up close. I particularly liked the jellyfish and took lots of photos of them ;p
They are just swimming along so peacefully in such beautiful colours reflected from the lights.
Got me thinking about The Little Mermaid's
Under the Sea song and the line "the seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake". A lot has been on my mind recently about work, family, blogging, living in Singapore etc.
Sometimes it really is so much easier to think that somebody has it easier or better than you. A SAHM might think that a FTWM has a better life for earning her own keep and having more me-time, a FTWM might envy a SAHM for having more time with the kids. I myself struggle with what I want in life, and sometimes think "oh how nice if things were like this" or "if only...".
The seaweed {or grass, since we are not merpeople haha} may be greener in somebody's lake, yes. But it is also greener where we water it. There's so many things that I've been blessed with, so much good I am surrounded by, and so much things to be thankful for. I really must learn to nurture this heart of thankfulness so that I can see the green where we live, and be happier for it.

I do think sometime I wish different things for my blog, but really, I just have to concentrate on making it what I want it to be, and not what I think people want it to be.

I love watching the jellyfish. They are so calming to look at.
I agree, it's sometimes easier to picture yourself in someone else's place, but like you said, if we take the time to water our own lawns, our grass will be just as green.

I love this post! Will keep remembering to ask myself how I can water my patch every and any time I find myself comparing with someone else.
