Twilight Breaking Dawn Pt 2 Movie | Date at GV City Square

I'm not exactly a Twilight fan {hubby is more Twihard than I am - surprise!}, but there's something about the movie series that is just so intriguing. For about one week, the boy and I had a marathon of all 4 past Twilight movies to "prepare" us for the big finale that opened on Thursday.

I got a little emo knowing that it was the last installment to a big saga like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, but was very pleased that Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 was more than a teenage love story like its predecessors. Yes, there's still buff does-he-ever-wear-a-shirt Jacob, beautiful dazzles-like-diamonds-in-the-sun Edward and his la tua cantante Bella, but Breaking Dawn Part 2 centered more on the essence of family, and about protecting it.

Especially protecting little Renesmee ~ gosh, the actress {Mackenzie Foy} playing Renesmee is so adorable! Reminds us of Lil Pumpkin with her long hair and big eyes ^^V Don't worry, there's no spoilers in this post, but do go and catch the great ending to the Twilight movie saga if you haven't yet! Hope that Stephanie Meyer will continue to write something on Renesmee and Jacob's future together. You reckon she will?

We don't usually go for movie dates that often nowadays with work and family commitments, so when we do, we have enjoy it to the fullest with our yummy movie snacks! The boy took advantage of the I Create My Snack Pack promotion to purchase nachos and jumbo hotdog for just S$8.50! You can also choose from regular popcorn or Ben & Jerry's ice-cream.

I had the Rise of the Guardians movie snack pack with large popcorn and the limited edition movie tumbler filled with coke light. I'm a sucker for collecting tumblers ;p

Waiting eagerly to enter the cinema and watch our movie!

We watched Breaking Dawn Part 2 at the brand-new GV City Square and just like GV Jurong Point, I love the ample leg room and wall-to-wall digital screens!  Really makes watching a movie there that much more special and comfortable.

With the opening of GV City Square, Golden Village will be re-launching an enhanced version of iGV, which is a mobile-ticketing app that allows movie-goers to book tickets and make confirmed credit card payments. They are also offering many industry-firsts to empower patrons to personalize and take control of their movie-going experience with a new campaign - I Run the Cinema @ GV City Square. In this campaign, movie-goers can:

  • book movie tickets early for the best ticket price {sometimes as low as S$5!}
  • mix-and-match their preferred choice of snacks with a S$8.50 snack purchase
  • host corporate or independent film producer events to premiere original videos on the big screen
  • decide which movie to be played in a session {!!!}

There's also a new Couple's Cinema dedicated to love-birds and features a unique seating layout where pairs of cinema seats are situated a distance away from one another, allowing couples to cosy up to each other in a big personal space. Tickets to this cinema hall are also sold in pairs. I think the boy and I may have found our new favourite place for movie dates <3

* Disclosure: The event coverage of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt 2 movie at GV City Square was due to an invitation from Golden Village, thanks to omy.sg. No monetary compensation was received, and all opinions are my own.

I find it really difficult to go on a date with my husband between children and business, there is just no time. I really wanted to see this one too. I will just have to go with my sister instead. Still, I'm glad you guys had fun!
