Kids Busy Bag | Wikki Stix Tons of Fun Travel Kit

Chinese New Year was over the weekend and for the first few days, there's usually a lot of house-visiting to friends and relatives to wish each other well for the coming year {拜年, bai nian}. It's always fun for Lil Pumpkin to play and meet with the large groups of people, but sometimes she does get a little bored with all the waiting and endless adult chatter, as kids do.

It's been raining heavily so outdoor play was difficult. Rather than let her vegetate in front of the TV or whine about going elsewhere, I brought along her newest busy bag {bags of simple activities to keep kids busy} - Wikki Stix Tons of Fun Travel Kit. It contains 96 coloured Wikki Stix, 4 blank faces cards, 2 blank greeting cards, Do-Wikki game {multi-player game to make creations with Wikki Stix according to the provided spinner categories}, Wikkidoodle blank sheets, project sheets and extra wooden shapes, feathers and pompoms in a vinyl carrying case for take-along fun!

Wikki Stix are made of non-toxic wax and yarn. They stick to most smooth surfaces, and to each other, with just a little pressure so need need for any glue. If you don't like your first, design, gently peel them up and reposition. Easy!

They don't break or tear about either, but you can cut them with scissorts to make small parts for eyes, whiskers, antennae etc. The Wikki Stix in this kit comes in a good variety of colour so there's no need for additional paint, crayon or markers.

I like that it inspires Lil Pumpkin's creativity like Play-Doh {which she loves as well} to mould and build things, but it's not as heavy / bulky to bring out, and it won't dry if left out too long since it's made of wax. Plus, it's less of a mess!

Lil Pumpkin likes to squoosh them into little balls...

Like this! A good thing is that they can be unravelled easily after play :) The Wikki Stix Tons of Fun Travel Kit really provided many hours of entertainment and I'm so glad we had it. I'll be rotating this with her other busy bags to bring along when we are on the move to restaurants, traveling, doctor visits etc.

Wikki Stix is suitable for kids aged 3 years and up but it is also handy household helpers for mums too! You can use Wikki Stix to
  • wrap and secure extension cords.
  • retrieve small hard-to-reach items but sticking them at the end of a long rod and reaching out
  • tie snack bags
  • stick to the back of papers to turn them into post-its
  • organise your nails, tacks, safety pins, buttons etc.by sticking them in neat order
  • wrap around the stem of a wine glass to identify
  • fix watchbands, jewelry temporarily
If you are interested to try out Wikki Stix, find out more on its Facebook page. There's heaps of other activity sets and fun educational ideas available.

Busy bags and boxes are a great idea aren't they. We have a few boxes that I swap around or can take when we head to Perth. One has dinosaurs and accessories, one has stickers and craft things, and one has sorting things like buttons.
