10 Delicious Kiwifruits Food Ideas #AmazingZespri

Did you know that Zespri kiwifruits are in season now?? You've probably seen packets and packets of the distinctive furry, oval fruits straight from the vines of New Zealand at the supermarkets lately. Zespri Green kiwis are in season May - December, while Zespri Gold kiwis are in season May - October.

Seasonality refers to the times of the year when any type of food is at its peak, either in terms of harvest or flavour... although both usually coincide together. It's also the time when the item is at its cheapest and freshest in the market, so it's really a no-brainer why you should try to eat seasonal food to savour the food at its finest taste, and at its lowest cost.

Last week we attended a dinner at Fern & Kiwi {a bar & eatery serving New Zealand food} to celebrate the launch of the Zespri Kiwifruit season this year and we tasted some fine dishes prepared with the star of the night - kiwifruits! I thought to compile a list of 10 Delicious Kiwifruits Food Ideas to inspire you to eat more of this nutritious fruit while its in season too.

1. Kiwi Seafood Salad made with marinated prawns, scallops, snapper tossed with Zespri Kiwifruit.

2. Pan-seared Pacific Snapper Loin with Kiwi Coulis {thick sauce made from puréed and strained vegetables or fruit} served on a bed of lyonnais potato

3. Charred-Grilled Lamb Cutlets with Kiwi Relish served with mashed potato

4. Duo of Kiwi Panna Cotta {creamy Italian pudding} and Fresh Kiwi Compote {cooked fruits}

5. Pineapple & Kiwifruits Fried Rice... a recipe I came up with last year :)

8. Kiwi Jam is certainly something different from your usual jam varieties!

9. Fruits go so well with salads and I like this interesting Kiwi Spinach Cheese Salad. I made Kiwi Greek Pasta Salad for dinner last night too ;)

10. Kiwi Sorbet is perfect for any hot, tropical day!

My family eats kiwifruits whenever its in season and we had so much fun at last year's Zespri Kiwifruit 14-Day Daily Scoop of Amazing Challenge, we're going to try it out again this year :) I hope to prepare some of the new dishes listed above, and perhaps you'd like to join me on this fun journey too? Here's a suggested 14-day calendar you can follow to include kiwifruits in your daily diet. You can also find out more on kiwifruits and its recipes on Zespri Singapore website.

Hi ai, my fave kiwi fruit recipe? Cut it in half and scoop it out, eating one spoon at a time - I love then a la natural. I also love the, on pavlova - just divine x

Kiwi is one of our favorite fruits! I sent some in to a class party a few years ago with my youngest daughter and was SHOCKED at the number of kids who had never tried it before. It's so inexpensive and all the kids loved it! Hopefully they've asked their parents to buy it now that they've had a taste of it themselves.

We love Kiwi! The gold kind isn't sold here. I'd love to try it!

At my sons school they serve 1/2 a kiwi - unpeeled. He wouldn't eat it. We got some to try at home. Let me tell you it is hard to eat that way. I'm sure other kids aren't eating it. Such a waist of a great fruit!

I just like to eat them whole, and I know I am probably in the minority here, but with the skin on! The kiwi pops look good and great with the prawns :)
