For our first box of mooncakes this year, we enjoyed the Swensen's Ice-Cream Mooncakes wrapped in soft, chewy pastry skin.

Chempadak Bliss - Some people say that chempadaks are the same as jackfruits, but I also heard that they are a different species and slightly smaller than jackfruits. In any case, the taste is very similar to jackfruits and I love this uniquely Singaporean flavour! Refreshing and packed with real chempadak bits, it is so delicious and creamy. If you are only getting one Swensens ice-cream mooncake to try, this is it.
Sticky Chewy Chocolate - True to its name, this mooncake is just pure chocolate indulgence and a must-try for all chocolate-lovers. I can see why it is one of their best sellers ;)
Durian Royale - Another exotic local flavour, premium D24 durians are used for a full-bodied, flavourful treat. As a durian fan, I definitely was not be disappointed with this one!
Hazelnut Almond Delight - If you find Sticky Chewy Chocolate tooooo sweet, this is a good alternative from the range. There's a smooth balance of creamy hazelnut ice-cream with hazelnuts and almonds for that extra crunch.
These lovely mooncakes certainly left a sweet {pun fully intended!} impression on us. Swensen's "Jewels of the Moon" Ice-cream Mooncake Collection is priced at S$29.80 for a box of 4 {with a choice of flavours} or S$8.60 per piece. Available from now to 19 September 2013 at all Swensen’s and Earle Swensen’s outlets. No pre-orders are required :)
Promotions: ANZ, Citibank, DBS/POSB, HSBC, OCBC and UOB cardholders can enjoy an early bird special of 15% discount before 5 September 2013 and a 10% discount thereafter till 19 September 2013. Swensen's Cool Rewards & Kids' Club members can enjoy 20% early bird special & 15% discount thereafter.
