Canada & UK 2014 | Cold, Snowy Winter Here I Come!!

{Vancouver, Canada - source}
I've been blessed to travel quite a bit the past few months. In September I went to Northern Territory {Australia}, November was to Hong Kong Disneyland and December to Seoul, Korea. This will be my final trip for the season to Vancouver and London and it's for work... well, mainly work but I'll have some time off for leisure ;p

I was hesitant to go on this trip because I'll be meeting our business counterparts all by myself, and the reps I'm meeting are top management staff. No senior colleague to rely on for answers about our operations and industry. I've been reading up a lot more on our organisation and really hope I don't screw up! It'll be good exposure and an excellent learning opportunity for me though.

I was also a bit hesitant because of the long flight to Canada and the UK! Actually as you are reading this I would have probably landed already haha. As a child I used to loved flying but now as I'm getting older, long plane-rides are really quite a pain. I can't really sleep well on airplanes and my nose always gets stuffed up :/

But despite my all my hesitance, one thing I'm really looking forward to though is exploring Vancouver and London in winter and discovering what it has to offer. All by myself. The whole trip itinerary is pretty tight but I'll definitely try to make a trip to Granville Island, which apparently is a must-see for any visitors to Vancouver.

I'll have a little more free time in London and will be meeting up with my friends Nozomi and Valyn. Eeeks it's been so long since we last met :) It's also been more than a decade since I've been in London. Felt so lost when I was researching on places to go and things to do. It seems even more complicated than Tokyo haha.. but I'm sure once I get to the place, I'll start to remember my first few visits there as a child. I hope to go to Victoria & Albert Museum, Harrods {love the food court there!}, Big Ben.. and of course the relatively-new Harry Potter Studio Tour London and famous London markets. Woohooooo~!!

As usual, I'll try to update via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I have some scheduled posts coming up these 2 weeks while I'm out of the country so do pop back and check them out. Will be sharing more obento family ideas for Wordless Wednesday, Lil Pumpkin's new Chinese New Year clothes {yes we have them already!!} my shopping haul from the recent Seoul trip, and some horse craft ideas to welcome the CNY Year of the Horse!

See you all when I get back! xox

Bon voyage lovely - have fun, you will be superb I just know it. I'm very jealous. I've been working twice as much as usual at home after husband has had lack of work. So this is why I haven't done a guest post, but I REALLY will get there, once hubby back working full time. Safe travels and I can't wait to see what you get up to overseas!!

Hi Ai, this reminds me of my lone biz travel to the Canada and the US last Sept and leaving my family behind. Did lil pumpkin miss you like crazy? My kids couldn't take it very well that I was away for a week. I have to prepare a whole lot of ways to make them feel better without me and vice versa. I wrote that in the blog too if you wanna check it out: http://kidsrsimple.com/2013/08/24/can-mums-really-travel-without-kids/
And yes, 20+ hours and in fact after missing connecting flights and all, I was on the road for 30+ hours alone! It's no joke flying to Canada. I can understand your hesitance. I hope your trip is smooth!

What an amazing trip you are on! I am slightly jealous if you get to Harry Potter, but if you do, I really hope to see your photos!

Too bad you won't be meeting up with Brandi while you are in Canada, but I am sure you are going to have a great time nonetheless!
