Happy Mother's Day 2014!!

Last Thursday I left work slightly earlier to go to Lil Pumpkin's preschool. They were organising an early Mother's Day celebration for us mummies!! :) I was very excited to see what they had planned as the last 2 years went so well.. When she was in Kindergarten 1 she gave me her first handmade card and we ate pancakes together, and last year she gave me carnations flowers she potted herself in class.

Her teachers really put in a lot of thought and effort into helping the kids make us mummies feel really special :) This year, there was even a photo-booth with props!! #respect #thankyou

The celebration started off with a special performance from the class singing two Mother's Day songs in Chinese and English {if the video isn't working, see it on YouTube here}. So adorable!!! Very proud of Lil Pumpkin for remembering most of the words and movements. I'm sure they all worked very hard for this :)

Next, they presented us with their handmade gifts and paper carnations. Priceless gems that money can't buy. Thank you sweetie!! She was very proud to point out what she wrote on the diy necklace... "Look look! I wrote 'Mummy I love you' here!"

I think the portrait looks like Lil Pumpkin actually with her two swinging ponytails haha... is it because she sees herself in me? Or me in herself?? :P

With my little darling. So very blessed to be her mummy :)

Tomorrow is her 5th birthday actually. It's also 5 years since I became a mummy. 5 years of learning and growing together with my baby. There has been tears and heartaches, and frustrating days of doubt and guilt of whether I'm a good mummy or not.. but whatever it is, there definitely has been more days of happiness and laughter with her around.

Thank you for loving me despite my flaws, Lil Pumpkin. Thank you for your warm hugs and loving kisses. I don't know how you do it, but every day I'm inspired to be a better person because of you.

Wishing all mums, especially my own, a wonderful Happy Mother's Day~

That's so sweet! My boys had a celebration like that in preschool to. Now they do a thing in the morning before school called Doughnuts for Moms, and another one called Doughnuts for Dads later on.

I love the picture little pumpkin drew.
