Looming for Charity :: Club Rainbow Children's Charity

First of all, thanks for all suggestions on what I can loom for the charity that we're supporting. Seems like loom dolls are a popular choice!! ;)

Last week I got down to making some and am ready to "open shop", so to speak heh.

The charity that we are supporting is Club Rainbow (Singapore) - a registered charity committed to providing comprehensive help to children who are suffering from a range of chronic and potentially life-threatening illnesses. These Rainbow Children have to persevere each day to cope with their illnesses and its debilitating effects just to lead as close to a normal life as possible.

But not only are they physically impacted by their chronic illness, many are also affected socially, emotionally and in their mental well being. Thus Club Rainbow’s services are geared towards helping the entire family in a holistic way by providing compassionate relevant services to give all their beneficiaries a better quality of life and hope for the future.

The Looming for Club Rainbow mums hope that we can raise funds to support to help these children lead as normal a life as possible and make some of their dreams come true. We are hand-making Rainbow Loom charms and bracelets with lots of love and all sales proceeds will go towards Club Rainbow (Singapore) as we will cover the cost of materials, labour and postage.

Please help us to support Club Rainbow via this charity drive by purchasing to make a donation, or sharing this post! Thanks in advance xox

Special thanks to the boy for encouraging me in this & his postage duties, as well as Lil Pumpkin for keeping my spirits up and helping to sort the loom band colours for me. It's a family effort, y'all! Also to Rainbow Loom Singapore for helping to sponsor some loom bands to the group. Check out their Facebook page for more Rainbow Loom products and creative inspiration!

Oh I'm wearing the uber-cute Potong Ice-Cream modern cheongsam in these photos. Thought it went very well with my colourful Rainbow Loom creations haha. Potong means “cut” in Malay, and the Potong Ice-cream is named as such since it is cut into portions from a bigger block. Made of coconut milk, skimmed milk, corn starch and sugar as basic ingredients, it is fused with flavours such as yam, durian {my favourite!} and red bean.

Love the nostalgic childhood delight prints for this wonderful collaboration between Our Bitsy Prints and wheniwasfour to celebrate Children's Day. I hope they have such delightful collaborations that shine on our local heritage again :)

Wishing all cutie pies and little kiddos, especially our Lil Pumpkin,
a Happy Children's Day today!!

UPDATE: Our Looming for Club Rainbow group has raised around S$1,800!! Thanks so much for all your support and contributions! We really appreciate, as do Club Rainbow (Singapore).

That's a great idea. The things you are making are so cool!

My students next semester do a design campaign for a non-profit organization of their choice.
