Wordless Wednesday {linky}: Family Obento Ideas - Mackerel Kimchi Stew & Rice | Week 46

What's in my obento this week?
Mackerel Kimchi Stew & Mini Rice Balls.

Mum made this for my sis and nephew for dinner on Monday.
So jealous!! I want an obento like that too!!! :P

Obento {お弁当} is a home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine and doesn't always need to be complicated or time-consuming. I hope to inspire you to create delicious, everyday obento meals for your family with these simple ideas and tools.

These photos are part of the 52 Weeks Family Obento Ideas series.

The mini riceballs were made with a mould. Pretty easy to get if you've Daiso or an Asian shop in your area! :)

My daughter (16) is sick of sandwiches and has been asking for a bento style lunch box but I've been rather clueless with how to go about this.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh YUM!!! If your mum feels like making more of those for random people, I'd love one, too. ;)

That is super pretty! Are those fish heads I see in the far right section?? I have a pair of salmon heads in my freezer, and no idea what to do with them. I was thinking some kind of fish stock...? I like the concept of a obento box.
