Blog Break | Sakura, My Love! お花見に行きますよ❀

My old university in Kyoto
Our hearts are heavy for this reason and more, but life goes on. As you're reading this, Lil Pumpkin and I have arrived in Tokyo, Japan. The boy will meet us later.

The main aim of this long-awaited trip was to catch the fleeting Sakura {cherry blossoms} season. Although we went back 1.5 years ago to celebrate Aki's wedding and go around Kansai, the last time Lil Pumpkin and I enjoyed this beautiful season was 3 years ago in Korea. As she enters Primary 1 next year, I'm not sure when is the next time we can do this again since it's not a school holiday period.

Sakura symbolises the Japanese’s love for the beauty of life, the inner beauty of things and new beginnings. Its fleeting beauty lasts for just a week or so - blink and you might miss it.

Especially in this time of sorrow, appreciating the beauty of the flowers reminds me more that one must stop to appreciate our transient life and its moments, because it too shall pass. Life too, is fleeting and we should do all we can to make it a remarkable one.

Surprisingly enough, the boy has never experienced a Sakura season before! *gasp* Since Sakura season in Japan is usually end March to early April, he has never flown over then to see me when I was there because he usually comes over in May for my birthday. Too close a timing. This will be the first time he is seeing Sakura live and I'm really excited for him, and hope this time away can ease his pain a little..

We'd start off at Tokyo then make our way down honshu to Osaka, Kyoto {maybe drop by my old uni} etc. and probably even Himeiji and Hiroshima since Lil Pumpkin hasn't been there before too. When I can, I'd be updating our Japan trip adventure on-the-go on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for our family and friends so if you'd like, keep in touch with me there.

It's time to rest, relax and focus on the family so I'll be taking a little blog break. The regular Wordless Wednesday and Celebrate Fatherhood features will still be on though. See you all when we're back next month xox

So beautiful, Ai.

For me, I'm also well aware time is fleeting. But I do need to finish my GST project before taking time off to enjoy, arrggh!

I absolutely love your blog and find almost all of your post's to be exactly I'm looking for.
can you offer guest writers to write content for you personally?
I wouldn't mind writing a post or elaborating on a few of the subjects you write about here.
Again, awesome site!
