Bub & Me: Disney On Ice "Magical Ice Festival" @ Singapore Indoor Stadium

Last night was simply magical! We went as a family to the opening night of Disney On Ice presents Magical Ice Festival at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves~

As we were busy preparing for our trip today, we only managed to reach the show venue about 6.30pm. Had about 30 mins before the show started to browse through the souvenirs and buy the big bucket of popcorn {S$17}.

Luckily the queue to enter and security door checks were pretty fast.

There are 3 - 4 booths selling Disney On Ice food and souvenirs. It's worth coming early to take a look as some of them are really cute!!

They sell hats {S$16 - 18}, cups with slushie ice {S$11 - 19}, water bottles {S$15}, t-shirts {S$20-24}, toy plushies {S$38}, light wands {S$20-30} etc.

I'm kind of regretting not getting a Frozen slushie cup for me.. I mean for Lil Pumpkin (´꒳`∗) My dear friends who are going to watch the show offered to help me get but we already have so many souvenir cups at home so I must resist...

Oh if you go early you can have your photo taken at the Photo Booth and get it printed and framed on the spot too {S$17 - 25}.

We did get one souvenir though. Well, two if you count the big giant bucket of popcorn haha.

We kept up with our family tradition and bought a performance souvenir program {S$16}. It has a nice embossed cover and comes with a red, plastic rose.

It was amazing to see our Singapore Indoor Stadium transformed into a giant ice rink. The iconic Indoor Stadium hosts a wide variety of sports and entertainment events, including Western and Asian superstars, family entertainment, award shows, sports matches and other large-scale events. It offers world-class technical facilities and can sit up to 12,000 spectators!

The last time we were there for a performance was for BIGBANG'S Singapore Fan Meeting 2014, and as you can imagine, the ambiance and crowd was pretty different haha.

Lil Pumpkin loved Disney On Ice and honestly, so did I!

Unlike a stage show where the action happens in one place, Disney on Ice is an ice show with an enormous performance space and a lot of movement. The show is not performed just to those people directly in front {although they do have the best view for some parts}, but rather to the entire Indoor Stadium.

But of course, what you pay determines how close you are to the ice and in turn, to the performers who are very willing to come say hi and mingle with the audience!

The performers were truly on point when it came to ice-skating to their parts.

Like skilled ballerinas or acrobats on ice, they jumped, twirled, flipped and performed with such masterful technique and energy.. so utterly beautiful that you can't help but admire their ability and passion to deliver a world-class performance to all us Disney fans.

The costumes were all very elaborate and did wonders to bring our beloved cartoon characters to life. It was certainly a feast for the eyes and added much joy to the overall experience.

During the 2 hours show, Ariel & her underwater friends from The Little Mermaid, the sassy Rapunzel & charming Flynn from Tangled, as well as the Belle & her Beast {and his whole enchanted castle entourage actually} from Beauty and the Beast took to stage to delight to the eyes, ears and emotions as they brought back our wonderful childhood memories, and more recent family memories visiting the various Disneylands and experiencing other types of Disney magic e.g. Disney On Classic.

Even Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald Duck made cameo appearances at the beginning and end of each 30 mins show segment, which I thought was paced very well and had strong starts & finishes.

The highlight of the night was definitely seeing the royal sisters Elsa and Anna, the hilarious snowman Olaf, rugged mountain-man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven as they help the sisters along the way in a story full of action and adventure.

Three years after the 2013 Frozen movie, we still have not "Let It Go" ☆(ᗒᗨᗕ)☆

I'm sure it was the same for most of the audience last night too. One sweeping look around the Indoor Stadium and you can see that the outfit of choice for most of the little girls was the blue princess gown.

And I'm not talking about the one worn by Cinderella.

Lil Pumpkin said, "I think they kept Frozen last as they know everybody loves Frozen!" Spot on, my wise little one.

Disney On Ice definitely kept the best for last! The crowd were thrilled by giant Sven and wow, how difficult it must be for the 2 performers to skate in tandem to act as Sven!! #kudos

There were a lot of "oooooo" and "ahhhhh" as Elsa created her magical ice-castle with the help of special light effects & pyrotechnics and special mention to Olaf for being true to his character and being such a bumbling bundle of joy~ It was also truly breath-taking watching the two sisters skate and perform together too.

I reckon Disney On Ice presents Magical Ice Festival is an experience everyone in the family, no matter what age, will enjoy. We all certainly did - from 6 year old Lil Pumpkin right up to my 60+ year old mother. Nobody is too young or too old!!

And added bonus of watching the show with your kid - seeing them dance and sing along with the songs! Spellbound Lil Pumpkin was so loud & adorable.. absolutely made my day to be able to see her so happy!!  (。◕‿◕。)

Saving the best for last is a good thing. Your little one is very smart. ;) You got some great pictures. We went to an event like this once and it was hard for me to get good pictures!

It really looks so magical! As a lover of all things Disney, I know we would love to see an On Ice event at some point.

Everything is so beautiful - the stage, the setting, the costumes, the performers.

Yeah I need to think twice too about buying stuff - where to put in the house?!

Hello, may I know what seats you got and how is the view? Thinking of getting the Cat 1 tickets this year but I'm assigned to the 12th row of Cat 1!
