It's actually owned by the team behind Primitive Art Piercing & Tattoo, the place where the boy and I usually go to get inked in Singapore. They already have 3 body art shops in FEP and I guess now they want to venture into the food business. Doug messaged me that they opened just before we left for Thailand so as soon as we could when we returned, we popped by to have dinner to check it out and show some support.
Anyway, I really was missing the yummy Thai food and had a craving for creamy Thai milk tea!!
The restaurant area is kinda small and I reckon that pretty soon, they will need to expand haha.We went down for an early dinner about 5+pm because we were going to catch Zootopia {which was awesome by the way!} after that and the place was almost full! It got even more crowded during the usual dinner time and I was so glad we came early and got a table.
KRA POW has a very simple menu of Thailand's most popular street food. There are just 4 noodle dishes, 4 rice dishes, 3 side dishes for sharing and 2 desserts available. Prices start from S$4.90.
If you love hot and spicy food, you will love this vibrant dish. I had a bit of it and the chicken tasted heavenly mixed with the runny egg yolk over the hot rice!! ೭੧(❛▿❛✿) The traditional recipe calls for Thai holy basil, but this herb is usually very rare outside of Thailand and most overseas restaurants substitute it with Thai sweet basil.
However since this restaurant is called KRA POW, which means holy basil in Thai, I'd think that they used Thai holy basil in this dish for an authentic taste haha. Anyway when the dish first arrived at our table, our noses were all tickled by the peppery smell and I reckon that came from the Thai holy basil?
Totally forgot to ask them to not put chili inside so unfortunately, Lil Pumpkin could only eat the rice and egg... with the meat and veg from my soup noodles.
I was very tempted to order the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert but didn't as I wanted to save the calories for my movie popcorn hehe.. I guess we'll be back again to try that dish and I'll order the Thai Basil Chicken for myself.
Usually when we're at FEP we'll eat at the Ayam Pengyet restaurants at Level 5, so it's nice to have another food option available there. I hope they add more items to their menu, especially more vegetables and kid-friendly, non-spicy food dishes. Currently, probably 8/10 of their dishes are spicy, which Lil Pumpkin can't take.

I can see why you like to go. I wouldn't mind trying the milky tea.
I don't think I've had milky tea before, but it sounds delish! The food all looks good and really does some reasonably priced.
I have to ask. I read somewhere that chewing gum is banned in Singapore and customs will confiscate it at the gate. Is this true? I could have sworn I've seen Lil Pumpkin blowing gum bubbles here before and I think the Aussie who posted the comment was just being silly.

That is so interesting about the gum! I'm sure that's why Singapore is known as one of the cleanest places on the planet. I wish we had that ban here. It is so disgusting to walk around town and see black spots on the sidewalks from old gum people just spit out.
