Happy 10th Birthday Darling Daughter! πŸŽ‚

Our baby girl turned 10 years old!! *throws confetti*

I know.. this is a pretty late post about it but it's such a huge milestone in our lives that I really must note it down on the blog, no matter how late haha.

Her birthday was on Sunday, 12 May 2019 and it was the day before all her major exam papers started! Oh the woe of being a May baby in Singapore!

The birthday girl was very understanding and did not kick up a fuss that we couldn't go out for a full day of fun at the theme park {like we usually do} or have a big celebration with our loved ones..

Instead, her birthday was spent mainly at her Chinese enrichment centre for her weekly class {I feel damn bad for sending her there on her birthday but what to do?? She needs all the Chinese help she can get!} then home doing light revision for her papers ahead.

The only thing Lil Pumpkin really wanted to eat was waffles so at night, we drove out to Compass One for delicious waffles with ice-cream at GelΓ‘re.

She chose the Chocolate Chips Treat waffles with Chocolate Overload and Cookies & Cream ice-cream, while the boy wanted Banana Craze waffles with Macadamia Nut ice-cream {I think}.

A sweet treat for our little sweetie (。♥‿♥。)

おθͺ•η”Ÿζ—₯γŠγ‚γ§γ¨γ†γ”γ–γ„γΎγ™,さっけゃん!You've brought so much joy to Mummy and Daddy these past 10 years. We love you so very much! (●´∀`)γƒŽ♡

Sorry we couldn't do more for you on your birthday but we will have such a blast this June holidays and at our upcoming trip back to Korea!

Lil Pumpkin's hard work for her mid-year exams certainly paid off and she showed pretty awesome improvements from her previous end-of-year exams last year for all of her subjects, especially Science and Chinese. Her Maths has always been strong and this time, she was just 3 marks off from full marks!

That's the most important thing for us, really - that she showed improvement. The actual marks aren't as important as much as progressing and trying to better herself each time.

To be honest, I'm kinda clueless as to the details on how our education system is or how they calculate the PSLE score or what she can do to increase her chance at getting into the secondary school of her choice.. but I believe that as long as she puts in the effort, her results will show, no matter what #hardworkpaysoff

I'm not trying to game the system so the "rules" don't matter that much. And whatever she learns in school isn't just for school, so she should study not just with the aim of getting good results, but also with the view of applying her knowledge and skills in life too.

Anyway, happy birthday once again to our darling daughter!

May your life be blessed with as much happiness and love as you've given to everyone you meet!  ♡o。.(✿ฺ。 ✿ฺ)

Waffles sound amazing! Especially with names like they have.

Double digits is a big deal around here. Happy Birthday Little Pumpkin, that's not so little anymore!

Happy one decade old birthday to her!! Congrats too, on the improvement in school. She's lovely and I hope she had a wonderful day in spite of having to go to studies. :)
