Bub & Me: Waterplay Just Got More FUN!!!

So after our dismal experience with the "waterproof" Sony Xeperia Z1 mobile {that's still undergoing repairs by the way}, we started looking around for a proper waterproof camera. It's been on my wishlist since I went swimming at the waterfalls & swimming holes in the Northern Territory. How cool is it to get underwater shots??! :)

I'd probably have mulled over it even longer but we're heading to Australia again later this month and I wanted to bring it along. We considered the tough range from Olympus, Canon, Nikkon, Fujifilm but finally settled on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT5 camera. Bought it slightly cheaper during the Great Singapore Sale hehe.

The camera is supposed to be waterproof {up to 13m}, shockproof {up to 2m}, freeze-proof {up to -10ºC} and dustproof. It also has WIFI capabilities so we can easily transfer the photos to our mobiles, shoot with 16 megapixels, and has an anti-fog Leica lens. The battery life is about 20% longer than its predecessor too.

We brought it to the pool yesterday and our water-play definitely got waaaaaaaay more FUN!! Oh, we also got Lil Pumpkin a pair of goggles since she likes to open her eyes underwater haha.

Our little dancing water baby!

I didn't edit any colours in these photos as I think they already look pretty ok #nofilter We used the burst shots to shoot her as she moves too fast!

Lil Pumpkin is always smiling when she puts her head underwater! We kind of timed her and she can hold her breath underwater for about 10 seconds.. not bad for someone who hasn't been through proper swim lessons~

We need more practice taking family selfies underwater though hahahahaha...

Haven't tried the video-taking function yet but there's also an inbuilt camera "torch-light" to illuminate when recording movies underwater. Since it's more rugged, we're ok to let Lil Pumpkin hold and practice taking photos with it too, even though it's not as well-padded as a kids camera. With the camera strap around her wrist, of course! :P

Pretty excited to play around with it more! Here's to more days at the beach and pool ♥ 楽しみですね~!

How fun! We've taken some water pictures, but not a lot.

Those are great shots! I don't have an underwater camera, but I do put a Lifeproof case on my iPhone when I want to play with it in the water. Seems to do the job since my phone is still functioning lol.

Wow... I think this will be fantastic for water parks! Like Wild Wild Wet, Lego Waterpark, Adventure Cove... and beyond!

Gotta get myself one.
