Christmas 2015 | Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium Weekend BBQ Dinner + Festive Menu

This is the season for delicious indulgences and rather than fight it {then get all grumpy for missing out on the delicacies}, I'm just going to strategise and plan how to tackle all these good food while trying to keep up with my fitness training and healthy eating program.

You can see some tips on how to eat at buffets without guilt when you're on a fitness training plan here #foodieatheart

Thankfully, I've hubby by my side to help me with this haha. It really is much easier when you've someone doing the same thing you're doing, and encouraging you not to give up!!

Earlier this month, we were down at Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium to try out their Weekend BBQ Dinner. Exuding a shophouse charm, the newly-furbished Atrium Restaurant now boasts a bright and modern interior to feature its sumptous buffet and ala carte menu.

I like the high ceiling and wide open space. The buffet only starts at 6.30pm, but we arrived early and the service staff were kind enough to let us wait inside while they set up.

As parents, we always look out for kids-friendly areas whenever we go out now and I'm always impressed to see restaurants that set out specific places for kids to play and eat {especially since space is a rare commodity in Singapore!}.

Like all other Holiday Inn establishments {we've stayed at Holiday Inn Batam & Holiday Inn Bali Benoa}, the kids are well taken care of here at Atrium Restaurant's buffet with their own kids buffet table! There are kid-friendly dishes like non-spicy satay, grilled fish, pizza etc. that use a variety of fresh, wholesome ingredients with less added salt, sugar and fat to be nutritionally balanced and tasty. Plastic children cutlery & dishes are also provided.

Lil Pumpkin was thrilled that she was tall enough to see over the buffet tables and get her own food without us helping haha.

Of course kids are allowed to take food from the adult buffet tables too. More than enough to go around! There's a wide array of international cuisine and local signature dishes.. basically everything you'd want to suit everyone's tastes and needs.

At buffets I like to see that the dishes get replenished frequently {especially premium stuff like oysters and sashimi} and the service staff clears the table timely {to make way for more food haha}.

Both items were checked during our dinner here :)

Some must-try delights include,
  • Premium Sashimi: Fresh, juicy thick slices of salmon, tuna, squid etc.
  • Fresh Seafood: Includes Alaskan king crab, scallops and oysters!
  • Mussel Otah-Otah: A special rendition where smooth fish paste is baked with fresh, succulent mussel. Has a hit of spiciness.
  • Curry Laksa: Customise your own bowl of rich & flavourful laksa to make it even spicier or add more 料
  • Whole Baked Salmon: Cooked so that it's buttery-soft and melts in your mouth
  • Roasted Beef:  Meat-lovers will be pleased with its tasty and succulent meat
  • Chocolate Fondue: Coat marshmallows, fruits or other tasty desserts in the rich milk chocolate
For the boy and me, we really couldn't stop going to the Cheese station as well!

Unlimited servings of Roquefort, Camembert, Emmental etc served with sweet honeycomb or nuts??? Yes, please!

Not sure why but I always feel so happy watching Lil Pumpkin eat hehehe...

Oh for drinks they have a tea and coffee bar, but you've to pay extra for juices, soft drinks and alcohol.

Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium is a little out of town and the usual shopping areas, so if you want to dine in peace away from the Christmas hustle and bustle, please consider coming here.

Buffet prices are not too bad considering that kids aged 12 and under eat free, and it includes premium sashimi and seafood like oysters!

For Christmas season, Atrium Restaurant has also added a stellar spread of festive dishes to their usual menu.

Customers can wine, dine and feast on Onion Espuma made å la minute not to mention hearty traditional Christmas favourites like Roast Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing and Homemade Cranberry Sauce and Honey Glazed Ham with Orange Sauce.

We were down before the Christmas menu started proper but managed to taste the Pan-seared Lobster with Tomato Stew and Roast Rack of Lamb with Apricot and Thyme Jus that's in their festive menu too.

Tomato is always a good choice with seafood but I prefer to eat lobster with butter as I find that the tomato overwhelms the sweet, fresh taste of the lobster. The lamb chops was really succulent and soft!! I thought the apricot coating was crispy skin haha.. very innovative and unique. Added an extra sweetness and crunch to the lamb.

Dessert-lovers like me can also end dinner on a sweet note with decadent desserts such as Chocolate Banana Log Cake, and Christmas Pudding with Vanilla Brandy Sauce, alongside local treats like Ice Kacang and Nyonya Kuehs if you feel like you've had enough of ang-moh food :P

Oh, if you're looking to host a fuss-free Christmas / New Year's party, you can also order from their menu of festive takeaways to make all gatherings as delicious as they are memorable. Impress everyone with the Grain-fed Ribeye, roasted to perfection and served with a rich Pinot Noir Wine Sauce.

I highly recommend that you don't miss this year's new delectable log cakes - rich Chocolate Mousse with Pearls Log Cake, and especially the Lychee and Raspberry Ice-Cream Log Cake which is so delicately sweet and refreshing.

For the full list of festive goodies, please visit Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium's website and order online for 25% off! Festive takeaways are available from now until 31 Dec 2015.

Js love the kids corner too! Just that there was a spicy dish on the day of our visit. Ha. Their ultimate love is the dessert corner, ice cream with that free flow choice of toppings! Oh, and I love your make up!

Need to go try this with family soon. Time to reward ourselves for all the hard work and this wouldn't hurt our wallet as much. Thanks for sharing!
