New Look | Loving My Short Bob Haircut!!

So I've been feeling a little restless of late. The kind of restlessness that makes you want to do SOMETHING and make sure that things CHANGE for the better. No more waiting, no more what ifs, just freaking if-it-makes-you-happy-just-do-it. I might have my Northern Territory trip to thank for that because it made me realise just how useless procrastination and worrying is when there's so much freedom and beauty to appreciate in this world. And no time should be wasted discovering them.

Yeah, and what better way to change then to start with a new hairstyle and look!! Out with the dull, long hair and in with a chic short bob! :P

I've been thinking about it for a while but hum-hawed about it because it takes forevvveeer for my hair to grow out. It took about 3 years for my hair to reach that current length from a bob. And I actually do like my hair long because there's so many more styling options!! However, I'm not like one of those ANTM gals to cry over getting her hair chopped off, so I just decided to do it and booked an appointment with Berne, my usual hairstylist, last week.

Here's Berne working his magic. I get invites for hair sponsorships sometimes but I always turn them down because I can't imagine trusting anyone else with my hair. I mean, unless Berne dies *touch wood* or moves out of the country, I won't change hair stylist to cut my hair. I've mentioned before that he's meticulous {it took 3 hours just to get this bob!} and listens to what I want, yet recommends without being too pushy. Plus he never hard-sells anything and he doesn't chat endlessly. For me, going to the hair salon is a time for me to relax, so I really don't like to make too much small talk.

In case you're wondering, Berne doesn't even know I blog so he's not doing all this for publicity. It's just the way he is.

Ta-dah!! Finished slightly asymmetrical short bob :) I permed the ends and my fringe slightly so that I don't have to blow-dry my hair to get the proper "round" shape. I'm too lazy busy to blow-dry and shape my hair everyday before work so this is really an easy alternative.

To spice things up a bit, Berne cut my right side slightly longer than my right side. Also, since my hair is really, really thick, a lot of layering was done and he actually shaved the back of my head hair slightly to slope downwards.

Love love love it! :) My friends who've seen it think it's so awesome and "so me" too haha. Think I'll be having this hair-do for quite a while.. until something else comes along and catches my fancy ;p

A bob always makes me look more chic and I agree that it looks good on you. I've done so many things to my hairstyle before from bob to long, straight to permed. Now I'm trying to grow out my hair so that I can perm it next year.

I say it again. LOVE the cut!

I do the perm for my fringe and my ends too cos I want hassle free hair and don't like having to blow dry my hair just to get the shape.

Your bob hair cut looks great! How fortunate you are to have such a detail focused hair dresser.
A good hairdresser, dentist and doctor and not to be taken for granted!

Susan: I think one of the hardest things about hair is not touching it and just waiting for it to grow out! ;p

Alissa: thank you:)

Amie: thanks.. I'm really blushing now!

Aroha: thanks love!!

Missus Tay: yes, and now it's time for YOU to go chop your hair haha

Wendy: so true! I haven't got a regular doc but my girl has a regular PD whom we trust and wouldn't want to change for the world too ;)

Looking very, very good! I think it was a very smart move to have permed your fringe and sides to get the 'round' look without having to blow your hair daily! ;)

I love it Ai! I wish I had the face shape to pull off a short do, but mine is just so round, it makes me look too old when I cut it. You look fabulous, my friend. Simply fabulous!

It's gorgeous, Ai! Love it! It really suits you!

I think a great hairdresser is one that listens to you. Not maybe necessarily do what you ask them to do but if they listen to you, they get to know you and eventually know what would suit you.

Super cute! I like that idea about a little perm to keep the round bob shape.

It looks really awesome! It must feel incredibly awesome too, am I right? The soft curls to make the bob flow more naturally around the face is a really terrific idea. I'll definitely keep that in mind for next time if I eventually restyle my current short cut
