Hermès Petit h Exhibition in Singapore

I caught the stomach flu bug {again} this week and was feeling kinda down. Yesterday after work, my sweet boy surprised me with a gift... no, two gifts actually! He had gone down to Orchard Road in the afternoon and lined up to get me some pieces from the Hermès Petit h Exhibition.

The boy bought for me a set of cord necklace and bracelet wrapped in their famous silk scarves #love

Under the direction of Mme Pascale Mussard, the great-great-great-granddaughter of Thierry Hermès {founder}, Hermès Petit h shows upcycling at its most luxurious. Company artisans salvage defective merchandise, broken shards and scrap cloth to turn them into beautiful jewelry, homeware and decorative art. Each piece is so exquisite, so imaginative, and you can be sure of its exclusivity.

We headed down together again in the evening so that I could admire the exhibition {or perhaps to get another set of silk scarf-wrapped necklace & bracelet??}. There was no queue unlike in the afternoon, but the first floor of Hermès was definitely cramped with the displays and other visitors/shoppers. Not too crowded for me to take some snapshots though ;)

This is so random, but I like it a lot. The eclectic combination of a porcelain cup and a glass stand just caught my eye.. for a long time.

Doggy house covered with leather. Wonder who is the lucky dog :P

Stools with seats covered in luxe leather.

A giant leather panda!!!

Automobile decorative piece covered in exotic leather.

Mini chandelier with silk scarf strings.

Leather animals and jigsaw puzzles..

Leather headbands... there was also a collection of leather bangles brought in as well but they were all gone by the time we went! :(

Petit h chess set! Think this was my favourite of them all :)

Airplane decorative piece covered in leather.

More one-of-a-kind porcelain and silver jewelry pieces.

The popular silk scarf-wrapped cord necklaces and bracelets. Almost half were sold by time we were there in the evening.

Petit h homeware and chopstick holders made of their silk scarves.

I quite liked the leather jigsaw puzzles too haha

The boy liked the leather windmill :)

Mirror with borders made up of different Hermès locks!

Canvas ladies hat with silk scarf borders.

A sweet yellow leather swing.

I got this instead of another set of necklace & bracelet. And yes, it is a leather swing... miniature version of the one above this pic hahaha. We found it so quirky, yet rather whimsical and cute. Like who the heck wears a swing on their neck? Well, apparently me ;p

The boy and I don't usually splurge, but we do appreciate some of the finer things in life when we can. As a crafter-at-heart, it was fascinating to see this luxury brand give new life to otherwise wasted materials as well. I don't think we will be going to Paris anytime soon to visit the Hermès Petit h rue de Sèvres boutique, so we might as well take some of its memory home from the Singapore exhibition ;)

What a sweet boy you have there! Those are some very lovely gifts he got you :)

I am so loving those stools. I doubt I'd be able to get my husband to spring for some of them though. I guess I'll just drool over them from way over here lol.

I love the quote and picture at the end. :) I was going to say your gifts are nice and I love the stools, but that's exactly what Theresa said above me, lol, so I'm going to note the airplane and windmills as being cool!! This was a fun post to read!
