Bub & Me: Teacher's Day 2014 | DIY Starburst Rainbow Loom Bracelets

It's pretty early but since we'll be out of the country on Teacher's Day 2014 {Fri, 5 Sep for those unaware} and Lil Pumpkin won't be in class to celebrate with her teachers, we prepped early so that she can give them her diy gifts and cards next week before our trip.

As usual, we wanted to craft something to make them more meaningful and since we've been so into Rainbow Loom lately, we decided to just make some simple bracelets for them. For previous years, we had made hand-stamped tote bags & washi tape notebooks

I'm not too sure about giving Rainbow Loom bracelets to adults as some might find them too childish {??} but it's something Lil Pumpkin thought of herself and wanted to do so I didn't want to shoot down her idea. Even if they don't want to wear it, they can still modify a bit and use it as a key chain :)

We went through a few Rainbow Loom bracelet designs and decided on the pretty Starburst bracelet. It's really easy to make and not that "childish" I guess :P Lil Pumpkin chose the colours for each teacher, and helped to set up the bands on the loom {with me guiding hehe}. Lil Pumpkin can loop too but only for really, really simple loom designs so I did that part for these bracelets. Later today I'll see if I can get some charms for their initials to add to each bracelet.

For the card, I used this cute free printable and edited a bit to suit the occasion since it was meant for Valentine's Day. Printed and Lil Pumpkin stuck it on cardboard with a white doily to make it prettier. After that, I poked 2 holes with a screwdriver {too thick for a hole puncher} and slipped the bracelets through.

Rather pretty! Hope the teachers will like these gifts made with love from Lil Pumpkin and me. Yeah, she might not have made it all by herself, but I like her teachers too and appreciate all their effort and time spent on her so I'm always happy to lend a helping hand in making these gifts. We're "knot" kidding, they are the best! :)

Wishing all teachers a Happy Teacher's Day 2014 in advance!

These bracelets are so pretty. Agree that all teachers day presents are still mummy's work one way or another. I got Sophie to make them cards and putting together a small gift for them.

Those are cute!!! Is there a tutorial for that one on YouTube that you know of? We're newbie's, and have to look at videos when doing them.
