New Family Market from honestbee - Daily Best Value Prices for the Household + {Promo}

Recently, honestbee has just launched a brand new store called Family Market that focuses on all your family's everyday needs.

Their products range from food, health and beauty essentials, to babycare products and household goods.

I love going grocery shopping. If grocery shopping is considered a hobby, I'd probably list it as one of mine haha.

Even when traveling overseas, I love going to the markets and grocery stores to check out what's new and available {Chicken in a Bisket is back in Singapore by the way!! woot woot}, suss out the daily deals, compare quality and prices for the things I need between different brands, and just basically amble down the aisles...

This is, of course, based on the notion that I have time to spare. For most working parents like me, time is of the essence and just spending more than 30 minutes out grocery shopping is probably considered a luxury.

It's all usually just a grab-and-go, and you probably don't want to be caught wasting time queuing to pay, hustling with the after-work/ weekend crowd or running after your kids after a hard's day of work making sure they don't wander off and knock down a display of toilet paper or something (/。\)

I guess that why most parents I know like the convenience of online grocery shopping.

You can just sit in the comfort of your home to choose the items you need from a website, click to pay and get them delivered to your doorstep in a jiffy. Easy peasy.

And now at Family Market, it makes things even easier and more streamlined for online family shopping as they have identified all the basic essentials used by families in Singapore and grouped them together into 7 simple categories under one roof - Babies, Drinks, Food Cupboard, Health & Beauty, Home, Household & Cleaning and Snacks & Sweets.

Within these categories, they stock the bestselling products with the best prices negotiated daily from their partner stores, without a mark-up. A quick comparison check I did showed that a lot of the items we use at home are about 10-30% cheaper than other online grocery stores. I know because I like to compare prices and get the best value-for-money deals haha... and it's so much easier {and faster!} when it's done online (。^‿^。)

For example, a staple at my home, Quaker Instant Oatmeal Smooth & Creamy 1kg refill, costs S$4.40 in Family Market, but S$5.10 at FairPrice online and S$4.80 at RedMart. Or even a bottle of Dove Beauty Nourishing Body Wash 1L costs S$9.30 in Family Mart, and S$9.75 at both FairPrice and RedMart. Prices correct as of yesterday, Thu 29 Jun 2017.

There are currently around 500 products in this new Family Mart, and they are adding new products to it daily based on market research and customer demand.

Browse through their offerings on the Family Mart website and use my promo link for extra savings! Spend a minimum of S$50 for free delivery and a concierge fee of S$3.99 applies.

Family Market is a part of honestbee, an online grocery store where you can get your shopping from different stores in one order, on the same day AND within an hour #woah

While other online stores available in Singapore can only deliver from one store or inventory, honestbee does not stockpile goods in a warehouse. Instead, their trained shoppers go to stores near you and hand pick every item when you place an order to ensure the widest possible choice of fresh, great quality items. You can even leave very specific instructions for them to follow "e.g. please ask the butcher to chop my meat & separate into 200g packs"!

I like that they have a customer service centre that's open from 9am - 10pm daily. If you want to change your 1-hour delivery time slot or have a question about your order, you can easily speak to someone about it. If your item is out-of-stock or changes need to be made to the order, they will always contact you first for your approval too.

Their partner stores include FairPrice, Emporium Shokuhin {Japanese gourmet grocer}, Le Petit Depot {French supermarket - has Carrefour value-for-money stuff!}, Jones the Grocer, Amazin' Graze, Gastronomia, The Providore and even farm-to-table wholesalers like Fresh Direct {fruits & vegetable from farms around the world} and Foodsterr {health & organic food from US & Australia}.

You'd definitely be spoilt for choice when shopping here *grins*

Bookyboo - Personalised Books for Family & Children

We've read countless books but how amazing is it to be part of a story where you are the main character and hero??! It must be such a magical feeling and Bookboo personalised books helps to bring that magic alive for families and children.

Based in Singapore, they are the first ever book that can be personalised for any family with 1 or 2 children, even twins and single parents. The story takes the kid{s} on a jungle adventure where the kid{s} rescue their own parents from the cruel Evilor. The story is designed to help children enhance their vocabulary and inculcate life values of kindness, love and courage

Last month, hubby and I ordered the Fun Family Bookyboo book for Lil Pumpkin and her cousin, Lil J. When the book arrived earlier in the week, Lil Pumpkin was really excited to read it to Lil J so we went over to my sister's home yesterday to chill and for the kids to play together..

It's really such a sweet sight to see Lil Pumpkin reading to her little cousin (*^▽^*)

Since young, she always loved being the "big jie jie" and taking care of younger kids whether in the family, in school or at the playground.. I've no doubt that if blessed with the opportunity, she would definitely be a wonderful, caring older sister.

And that opportunity came along with Lil J (/^▽^)/

Although both of them are just cousins, we hope that they will both grow up to be close like real sisters and go on many adventures through life together. This book will be a precious reminder of the bond they share with one another and a way for the children to discover the power of a strong family and sibling love!

To order the book, just go to Bookyboo's website and key in some simple details like the kid{s} name{s}, gender{s} and you can even customise the book for twins or those with single parents.

The illustrations, characters and story will differ slightly based on your customisations. For example, if you put in 2 kids' names, there will be 2 kids as heroes in the story. If you put in 1 kid's name, there will be 1 kid and his pet dino who will go on the adventure in the story.

Unfortunately, you are not able to customise the "look" of each character e.g. hairstyle, hair colour, race, outfit etc. and I hope that Bookyboo will have this option available in the future.

There is only 1 storyline too where the heroes go into a jungle to fight the villian. I reckon it would be more fun if there were seasonal stories you can choose from too e.g. going to a winter wonderland during Christmas to fight a snow monster haha and hopefully Bookyboo will look into this too.

However, can I just say how impressed I am with the website? It is so clean, easy-to-use and loads fast. You can even preview the whole book for free before purchase! Here are some examples with the different customisation options,

Fun Family Bookyboo for twins, 1 boy and 1 girl, with both parents

Fun Family Bookybook for brothers of different ages

Fun Family Bookybook for single child and single parent

And if having your name all over the book and being the hero of the story isn't good enough, you also get a printed personalised message on the first page too! ♥ Hubby and I wrote a special, individualised message for each of the girl's book.

The Fun Family Bookyboo is printed on rich, thick, textured paper. Each page opens up to panoramic full-spread illustrations. Designed for the little ones' easy reading and sharing, each bookyboo is A4 landscape size {297mm x 210mm}.

Fun Family Bookyboo is recommended for kids aged 3-9 years old, and is definitely easy enough for a child like Lil Pumpkin {who is turning 8 next month by the way!} to read by herself. The text is in simple English using fun rhymes.

Delivery time is estimated to be 12 to 15 working days from the order date. You can check the exact shipping days at the time of checkout. For more information or to make your own personalised book, go to Bookyboo website or Facebook page.

P.S. Bookyboo also has another book called My Adventure where it is personalised for the letters of the child's name. I ordered that for a friend's newborn baby but it will arrive later. I'll review that when it comes in a few more weeks' time (≧∇≦*)

Promo: 10% OFF on the second book, and 15% OFF on the third book onwards. These books must all be in one order and have a common shipping address {discount will be automatically calculated in your cart}. Overseas shipping available, and free delivery to addresses in India, Malaysia and Singapore.

P2 Parenting: StickerKid Personalised Name Labels & Stickers

I can't believe a whole year just flew by and Lil Pumpkin successfully completed her first year of primary school!!  She worked hard and played her and I'm truly proud of her. It seems like yesterday when we were just shopping for her new school uniforms or spying keeping watch on her during orientation...

There's just about 2 more weeks before school reopens and she will be going to her new school year as a Primary 2 kid. Awww! #wheredidmybabygo

A new school year also means new school books and supplies to prepare and label which any school parent would know, can be a rather tedious task ( ᐛ )و

Growing up, I've to admit I've lost a lot of things. Sometimes it was small items like an eraser or pencil, sometimes it was important things like.. my wallet or shoes {why somebody would want to take another person's dirty old shoes beats me too}. I remember my mum telling me time and time again to take care of my things, but still patiently writing my name with permanent marker on my school uniform, water bottle, shoes, lunchboxes, books etc, because she knows that I'm quite a scatterbrain. It really was quite a painful process, considering how many school years we have... thank you mummy!

I'm glad that as a mother to a scatterbrain kid now, life is so much easier with the labeling process thanks to companies like StickerKid, which has printed millions of labels for more than 100,000 parents worldwide! Their colourful labels and stickers clearly identify children's clothes, shoes, bottles and other belongings that are too easily lost or difficult to identify in playgrounds, schools, pools or anywhere with a whole bunch of kids actually!

All you have to do is to go to StickerKid website to choose the type of stickers you want. They are pretty versatile and you can customise the background & fonts with different colors and characters that your kids like. You can even add your own photo to the stickers. It doesn't get any more personal than that!

Just choose your label shape {rectangle, heart, circle etc.} then type in your text, choose your logo/ colour of sticker / colour of text and follow the simple instructions to check-out! Easy peasy!! And you get a whole sheet of stickers each time, without manually labeling each item by hand. Saves so much time!

The stickers are of high quality, water-resistant and stick well to a variety of surfaces. However, if you want to remove them, you can and they don't leave any sticky residue. Even their clothes stickers are easily applied and removed with a heated iron. Very useful when passing on clothes and belongings to younger siblings or friends.

We've stuck them on to Lil Pumpkin's bags, uniforms, bottles, shoes and they seem to be holding up well despite my dear daughter's rough handling (❛▿❛✿) The different sizes are really handy for the different items.

The heart-shaped name labels are too sweet and are my fave!! I also like that you can use Chinese or Japanese characters in their name labels for mother tongue class supplies.

If you're looking to get some good quality name labels for school {or even yourself!!}, check out StickerKid on their website or Facebook page and use my promo code below for extra discounts.

All their products are shipped from Switzerland with Priority Post. Shipping price is only S$3 and packages are delivered directly into your letter box. There are value packs available where you can save at least 30% and even special Christmas edition name labels for presents (⌒▽⌒)☆

Happy holidays and start of the new school year!!

Promo Code: Quote SakuraharukaSK for 10% of ALL StickerKid products!! Excluding gift vouchers, valid only on StickerKid {Singapore} website until 25 Dec 2016.

Agape Babies: One-Stop Shop for Mums & Bubs + {Promo Code}

Hands-up if you like to shop online.

Yeah, my both hands are up too. I mean, most of the times you can buy things that are cheaper than what you'd find in a physical store, especially since you can easily browse through different websites to find the best price.

Also, it's so convenient since you can even shop in your pjs haha. Especially when you're a mum and the only free-time you have to shop is at night when the house is quiet and kids are asleep.. tell me how many physical stores in Singapore {other than Mustafa??} are open at 2am in the morning?!

Plus, you don't have to deal with crowded shopping malls. Urgh.

As much as possible, I'd try to shop from local online shops but sometimes the products I'm looking for can't be found locally {or are much too overpriced} and I have to ship them in from overseas.

But then, it is a pain in the a** when it seems like you have to wait like what seems like FOREVER for your overseas package to arrive!!! #thestruggleisreal

And that's why I'm absolutely pleased as Punch when I recently ordered at Singapore-based Agape Babies, and the whole package was efficiently delivered to me the next morning. Seriously. Blown. Away.

The super-duper fast courier delivery isn't just the only thing I like about Agape Babies.

They are also known to have one of the widest selection of goods for mums-to-be, mums, and children online as they are home to over 250 brands and 6000 products. From diapers, milk, skincare, food to toys, books, play mats & clothing.. almost everything you need for family life can be found here.

Agape Babies is the authorised retailer for many premium baby brands such as 3M, Philips, BABYBJÖRN, Organic Harvest, Bellamy, Trunki, Ergobaby etc. It really is a one-stop shop for mums and bubs!!

Despite the wide variety of items, shopping on their website is a breeze as everything is neatly categorised with clear product information and pictures. It's mobile-optimised as well so you can still easily navigate the site and shop conveniently using your smartphone on-the-go too.

That's great because I actually like to just chill in bed and shop online instead of sitting in front of my computer at my desk.. I've enough of that at work haha.

Yup, they also sell the stylish and functional Jujube diaper bags that's oh-so-popular with mums nowadays.

I can see why so many of my mummy friends carry it though... it has so many pockets to organise the baby stuff, and the prints are can be so cute / beautiful that they hardly seem like a typical frumpy "diaper bag" but rather a pre-mama glamourous bag to bring out and about!

If you have never checked them out before, now is a good time as they are currently having their Great Singapore Sale {GSS} so over 800 products are on discount.

I saw some pretty amazing deals and picked out some items for myself, sister, Lil J and Lil Pumpkin below.

The Unicorn Skip & Hop lunch bag is mine by the way for me to bring my obentos to work. Because, unicorns (*^▽^*) Quite excited to have regular family board games nights and play some of my fave childhood games like Scrabble & LIFE with Lil Pumpkin but we'll probably start that after our home renovation project heh.

Throughout the year, Agape Babies also has exclusive Weekly Deals every Wednesday and first-time customers also get S$10 or 10% off their first order and a free gift of either a Mustela Trial Kit {worth S$10} or a Bellamy Milk 400g tin {worth S$25.95}.

Happy shopping and let me know if you find something interesting there that I might have missed!! xox

Promo: Quote "aisakura5%" for 5% OFF purchases at Agape Babies. These exclude sale category items, diapers, milk, breast pumps and Jujube products. Valid until Friday, 19 Aug 2016 only. Free courier delivery to local addresses for orders above S$80 and overseas shipping available.

P.S. Next-morning delivery is only for those orders made before 2pm the day before. If you like, you can also self-collect from Newton, Sengkang or Old Airport Road. Since Newton is where their main warehouse is, you can actually drop by on the day itself to collect!!

Matching Leather Avarcas Sandals for Mums & Kids

Have you heard of avarcas sandals? Well, even if it doesn't ring a bell, I'm sure you've seen them around.

Lil Pumpkin and I are no strangers to going matchy-matchy for our clothes or footwear and got our first 2 pairs of avarcas recently from a local shop, Verano. We read up more on their rich history and found out that they are actually
"... a style of Spanish leather sandals that originated in Menorca, a Balearic island nestled in the Mediterranean Sea. In the isolation of the Spanish Civil War during the 1940s, the strong and flexible sandals were made by farmers from natural leather and recycled tyres to navigate the archipelago and its steep, rocky terrain. In the 1960s, craftsmen began to commercialise avarcas, and since then, avarcas have grown to be favoured by locals and visitors alike."
Avarcas sandals are pretty perfect as semi-casual footwear when you're not in the mood to wear feet-killing heels, can't bear to squash your toes in ballet flats, yet don't want to be too sloppy in flip-flops.

I like that they are extremely versatile too and are not only comfortable to wear from day to night, but stylish enough as well. The neutral colours go well with everything and its minimal profile elevates any outfit. Even the printed and bright pairs complements a simple outfit e.g a plain white tee and jeans combo can highlight their pop and quirk!

The first time I slipped on my avarcas I was blown away by how comfortable they are!!

The calf leather used is so buttery-soft and doesn't cut into my feet at all even after long hours of shopping, walking, running errands, chasing after Lil Pumpkin etc. I hate when that happens!

They are water-resistant {but obviously don't go walking in the pool with them!!} and can last longer than sandals with a synthetic or cork sole.. so gives pretty good mileage.

I've been told that they mold to your foot-bed after repeated wear and get even more comfortable with age too!

Verano means "summer" in Spanish. The lovely owners, Weiling {who also happens to be Lark & Peony's designer - Junie's, friend.. what a small world!} and Lin Hui, chose it for their shop's name as a kind of fusion between the origins of the avarcas sandals from Spain, as well as the endless summer here in Singapore.

Avarcas from Verano are made with flexible and durable molded rubber soles in the traditional style, as well as a lightweight foam sole. They work with a family business in Menorca, Spain that hand-makes their avarcas with traditional methods and tools in a more laborious process - stitching the sole with thick waxed thread and a punch needle.

Verano has avarcas sandals in a variety of styles and colours. However, all the inner soles and top lining are made of leather. Even if the top layer is faux snakeskin, fabric or glitter, the inner part is still made of authentic, buttery-soft calf leather.

Taking into consideration the craftsmanship and quality materials used, Verano's adult range goes for S$84, and kids range costs S$64.

Lil Pumpkin is pretty fond of her new sandals too. The kids' styles have leather ankle straps with velcro closures to keep the sandals snug, yet makes it easy for the kids to easily take them on and off themselves. And like the adult versions, the rubber soles have deep ridges in them for added traction on smooth or wet surfaces.

The avarcas are so chic, and in a way, provide a safer alternative to hard, plastic shoes or rubber clogs that are popular nowadays but have no comfortable in-soles and can potentially present a heightened risk of escalator entrapment especially to kids.

Verano carry European sizes 20 to 30 {U.S. 2.5 to 11.5} for girls and sizes 34 to 40 {U.S. 5.5 to 8.5} for ladies. Their cutting is much wider than traditional avarcas sandals that cater to the European foot. Asian feet tend to be a bit wider, and they have adapted their sandals for a better fit.

The leather sandals stretch, so I suggest taking your usual size or even going a size down. Also, I think because they are handmade, there may be be a little discrepancy in the sizing.

I'm wearing size 39 for both sandals but I find that the pink Horsehair Sangria is a teensy bit smaller than Box Calf {Ink}. Nothing too uncomfortable but if after getting your Avarcas you find that it doesn't suit your feet size, just holler out to the shop and I'm sure they can work something out for you.

Verano's avarcas sandals are currently stocked at PriviKids {Suntec City, Waterway Point & Changi City Point} and Excluniqueeee {Marina Square} so pop by to try out their sizes and cut. You can also buy directly from Verano's website since they have an online promo {see below for details}! They offer free shipping to Singapore addresses and deliver in 1-3 days. A men's collection is coming up soon so you can look out for that for the dads too. Matchy-matchy fun for the whole family? haha

Promo: If you refer a friend, they get 10% off their first purchase and you get S$10 store credit for every friend you refer too! ( ᐛ )و Plus, they randomly give away one of these cuties below with their online orders!! #iwantplease

P.S. Check out my tips on how to work the matchy-matchy mini me fashion trend here.

Where to Buy Customised Stroller Liners & Drool Pads in Singapore?

Getting customised stroller liners and teething drool pads seem quite the rage now, especially when the Tula craze started a few years ago. It wasn't really like that during *ahem* my time... I think (o^▽^o)  Like changing clothes to suit the season or mood for the day, parents like to change their stroller liners and baby carrier drool pads often for stylish, unique looks to match their own {or the baby's} outfits or feelings!

It’s been about 5 months since Lil J joined our family and a few weeks back, she was baptised. As a little celebratory gift for our special girl, this happy aunt here ordered a customised, handmade stroller liner set & drool pads from Sunday Kids for her.

Lil J has a dull grey stroller and black baby carrier which I thought needed some brightening up (✿╹◡╹) Plus, the liner & drool pads make for a practical gift.

A cotton liner will keep Lil J cool and dry in the tropical heat while protecting the stroller from the usual mess of snack leftovers and even diaper accidents… which every mummy knows happens oh-so-often haha. And drool pads help to protect the straps of my sister's expensive baby carrier from dribble & drool, and will save her from washing the whole thing too many times!

One thing good about Sunday Kids liners/ drool pads is that they are reversible with bright patterns on one side and a matching plain color/ design on the other side. If one side is dirty or in case you just want a quick new look, you can just flip them over #valueformoney

Based in Singapore, Sunday Kids was founded by fellow mum Veronika Fischer who lovingly sews stroller accessories {e.g. liners, strap covers}, car seat liners as well as baby carrier accessories that's suitable for many brands. I like that most of the fabrics she offers are high quality cotton sourced mainly from USA and Japan. Veronika reckons that Japanese prints are the cutest and I no doubt agree! (´౪`)

Fun trivia: Veronika, her brother, father and daughter were all born on a Sunday! In her family, being a “Sunday Kid” was always associated with good luck, and since Sunday is traditionally a family day connected with relaxed, happy feelings {something that Veronika wishes to reflect in the colourful products she carries}, she chose the name “Sunday Kids” for her shop! #nowyouknow

Don’t worry if you don’t have a standard pram / stroller / carrier model. After choosing the fabrics, I spent a few days corresponding with Veronika regarding Lil J’s stroller as she has a Bfree iwalker, a US brand which is rather large and not very common here in Singapore. Veronika was very patient and guided me on the measurements and photographs to take to help her make the best fit for the customized stroller liner and accessories.

That's the great thing about buying from small businesses like these - the owners take great pride in their craft and tend to be more attentive / provide fantastic personal service (^q^)

Anyway, my sis and Lil J has been using the items for about 1 month now and she helped to provide me with some feedback on the items which I'd share with you here:

Stroller Seat Liner
"I would have preferred the padding to be thicker so that it'll be more comfy and protect the baby's back & buttocks against the bumps. I'm currently using this on top of the existing padded liner. Fabric-wise, the white stars with grey background is interesting but isn't too loud, and matches my baby's grey stroller perfectly! Not to mention good against dark stains and dirt too. I'm glad that the customised liner fitted my stroller well too even though the model isn't very popular here."

Stroller Strap Covers
"These are comfy and cushioned. Love that they are sewn with snappers and padded for baby's shoulders! They also protect her delicate face against scratches from the rough bits of the straps, and the snappers definitely make detaching / attaching a breeze when it's time for washing."

Stroller Bumper Cover
"Baby loves the cute, funny-faced cats!! It's also padded so nice and soft especially since she tends to kick her feet against it. The cover is a slip-cover but it would be good to have snappers/ velcro closures too as while the bar is detachable, it has side "metal clips" to hold it in place when inserted into the pram so you have to stretch and pull the cloth over.. which I'm afraid might cause tears."

Stroller Handlebar Covers
"These are great to have especially with Singapore's weather, as our hands will perspire. They also add color & character to pram. This pair of 2 covers come sewn with velcro and so are easy to fix on. Some added padding would be nice for a softer feel."

Toy Strap
"I use this to strap Baby's teether toys. It's very useful as it's long and also comes with buttons for easy attachment and removal."

Baby Carrier Drool Pads
"Love the customised pads for baby's own carrier and the buttons used - color even matches the sweet design! Pretty nice detail there. It would be even better if it was thicker since Baby sometimes falls asleep in the carrier and her head falls sideways onto the pad. With thicker padding it would feel gentler on her head like a mini pillow heh... and make it more versatile!"

Overall, my sister said “I love love love the choice of cloth patterns you've chose for us and the product design from Sunday Kids!” Yay! Great to know that Lil J’s gift is so well-received and won’t end up as a white elephant haha.

If you’re a first-time parent looking for something special for your new baby or a parent with 2-3 kids looking to upcycle your stroller with a fresh look, check out Veronika’s Sunday Kids website, Etsy shop or Carousell store.

Sunday Kids sell ready-made items too which is so convenient if you’ve no time to wait 2 weeks for a customized order. Ready-made stroller / pram liners starts at $50 while customised liners with your choice of front and back fabric, filling and finishing start from S$60. All accessories {strap covers, bumper cover or handlebar covers} cost S$15. Free delivery to Singapore addresses and overseas shipping available.

In case you’re wondering {because I was too haha}.. it is not possible for customers to provide your own fabrics to Veronika to sew as the fabrics have to be suitable for the liner i.e. only medium to heavier weight cottons that are machine washable, and she cannot guarantee for the fabric in case of cutting or sewing mishaps.

Veronika joins our local fairs and markets regularly so if you prefer to feel/ see her actual products before purchase, do follow Sunday Kids on Facebook for updates on where she might set up a pop-up stall!

Update: I gave Veronika my sister's feedback as well and she explained that she uses cotton filling for her products and it is naturally thinner & and not as lofty as poly fillings... so may not feel as padded as my sister would like it to be. Also, poly fillings sometimes feel lumpy and the synthetic material may feel hot or uncomfortable on a warm day, as it does not breathe well. Do take this into consideration when purchasing!

Fitness Diary | 5 Healthy High-Protein Snacks I Love

Like a lot of people, I get the "munchies" or cravings for snacks pretty often. Most people snack on junk food that add too many calories and too few nutrients to our diets because they are fast / easy to get our hands on them. However, it doesn't have to be this way.

As I learnt from hubby and my personal trainers, when done right, snacking can keeps your energy levels up and actually gives you more opportunities to get in all your nutritional needs throughout the day #eatclean #cheatclean

The key words are "when done right" though. If you're going to snack, you might as well snack on nutritious, high-protein snacks that are better than your typical nutritionally-poor titbits. Protein helps maintain muscle mass, promotes recovery, keeps you fuller longer and is essential in any healthy diet.

These are currently my favourite 5 Healthy High-Protein Snacks I Love {in no particular order},

1. Quest Protein Bars
I've eaten a lot of protein bars through my swim training years and later through recommendations from hubby, and honestly, these are by far one of the best I've had in terms of nutritional value {20-21g of protein per bar, 4g net carb!} and flavour.

Some protein bars taste like cardboard but Quest bars taste like awesome candy bars and come in 16 delicious flavours!! So far, I've tried most of them - Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Cookies & Cream, S'mores, Double Chocolate Chunk, Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Strawberry Cheesecake, Apple Pie, Mixed Berry Bliss, PB & J, Peanut Butter Supreme and I think Lemon Cream Pie.

All of them have a firm, chewy texture and some people recommend warming them in the microwave before eating. You can barely tell that they are not actual candy bars! The variety of chocolate flavours taste pretty similar, but my top 3 choices would be Double Chocolate Chunk, Peanut Butter Supreme & Apple Pie.

I like that they fulfill my sweet cravings while providing me with the protein and fiber I need. Quest bars are small yet big on nutrition and one bar is enough to keep me satisfied until my next meal or give me a quick energy boost after my workout.

I always keep a box at the office and a few in my gym bag. They already taste great on their own but some fans have gone one stop further to use them in other healthy dessert recipes. I've bookmarked them to try when I've more time!

2. Quest Protein Chips
With 21g of high-quality protein, only 5g of net carbs and 120 calories per bag, Quest Protein Chips are the first-ever {only??} high-protein potato chips you can enjoy at the gym, on-the-go, or as an anytime snack completely guilt-free.

Do note that on average, most chips have over 25g of carbohydrates, 10g of fat, 190+ calories, and negligible, if any, amount of protein.

For Quest chips, not only is the protein quality and total gram amount very high for what you’re getting, but the carb and fat content is also extremely low. Since one of my meal goals is to increase protein intake with minimal additional carbs and fats, these chips fit well into my overall diet.

Made mainly from a protein blend {milk protein isolate & whey protein isolate} and dried potatoes, Quest Chips come in 5 savoury flavours - BBQ, Sea Salt, Cheddar & Sour Cream, Salt & Vinegar, and Sour Cream & Onion. Hubby and I usually get Salt & Vinegar and BBQ although I'd like to try Cheddar & Sour Cream the next time we order.

They are like crunchy crisps and not overly salty too. Unlike the usual potato chips, they are thinner and lighter.. texture is kinda like papadums?

3. P28 Whey Protein Peanut Butter
In general, peanut butter is a healthy, energy-packed high-protein food. Although it is high in calories and fat, peanuts contain monounsaturated fat, which is much better for your heart than other types of fat. Peanuts are also a rich source of vitamin E and minerals like magnesium and copper.  Many athletes consider peanut butter to be a super sports food.

However, since I need a protein-dense diet, I go for P28 Peanut Butter which is made 100% from whey isolate and has 14g of protein per 2 tablespoons {standard serving}, gluten-free and no sugar. In contrast, standard peanut butter has about 7g of protein for a standard serving which is still pretty decent, but if something else has less fat / carbs and has twice as much protein, I might as well go for that!

There are 5 interesting flavours available - Classic, Almond {almonds & whey protein}, Banana Raisin, White Chocolate, Gingerbread and Signature Blend. My favourite is the Signature Blend which features a delicious blend of almond, peanut, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, cinnamon and whey protein.

It's very satisfying and satiating, although it does seem oilier than the usual peanut butter. As a snack, I like to just scoop a spoonful from the jar and eat it plain on their own ٩(◕‿◕)۶

4. Flapjacked Mighty Muffins
I like quick microwave desserts because I can just make one serving, and don't have to spend hours mulling over the it or have a lifetime of leftovers {see my recipe for strawberry bread pudding} but they don't tend to be that healthy #oops

I'm so stoked that there's now protein-packed and high-fiber, single-serve muffins that can be made with the microwave available! And you don't even need to wash any dishes after! heh.. Simply add water, microwave for 35sec for a delicious, hot muffin that's so soft and moist. Yum yum yum...

Mighty Muffins are certified gluten-free, non-GMO and has 20g of protein {from whey protein isolate}, 6g of fiber and 220 calories in each serving {1 container}. Interestingly, these muffins have the added benefit of probiotics, which support immune health as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

There are 2 flavours available - Double Chocolate and Cinnamon Apple. I think you know which flavour I like best haha.. For extra oomph, I like to add a spoonful {or 2!} of P28 Peanut Butter on top of my chocolate muffin #proteinpowercombi

5. MyProtein Pasta
I love eating Shirataki noodles!! Shirataki {しらたき} noodles are thin and gelatinous traditional Japanese noodles made from the konjac yam {devil's tongue yam}. "Shirataki" means "white waterfall" in Japanese and describes the appearance of these noodles. Largely composed of water and glucomannan, a water-soluble dietary fiber, they are very low in carbs and calories, and have little flavor of their own.

MyProtein Pasta is Shirataki noodles and has only 7 calories per serving. They are a great addition for anyone looking to lose fat.  Like normal noodles, they fill you up pretty well without the added calories. By itself, you can't consider this as "high-protein" but the way I eat them, they are haha.

You can see how I cook and use them a lot in my meal-preps on Facebook or Instagram {#AiFoodPrep}. Each box has 6 individual packets and as a quick snack, all I do is just rinse with water, add a dash of Bragg's Liquid Aminos {a healthier alternative to soy sauce but taste just like it} and eat with an egg or mince meat. A very fast, simple and delicious Asian snack.

All these healthy snacks can be found at The Fitness Grocer, an online store based in Singapore. They provide a fantastic range of fitness-focused, nutritionally-balanced food for everyday living and bring in new items regularly. As the owners are athletes themselves, they understand to the need to eat clean and smart to fuel training and performance.

The Fitness Grocer is sole distributor to some of the best health food brands in Singapore too i.e. some of the things you find in their store, you cannot find elsewhere locally. Even then, their prices are pretty competitive and definitely beats ordering the products from overseas which may have exorbitant delivery charges and take forever to arrive.

They offer free delivery to Singapore addresses for purchases above S$75 and you can even choose to self-collect at Clementi if that's more convenient.

Hubby and I have been purchasing from them for almost a year already but recently, they got in touch with me to see if I'd like to share more about their products on the blog. I'm already a loyal customer, so of course I would! As a blogger, it is always a dream come true when brands you already adore approach you to work with them on projects o((*^▽^*))o

If you're really into active living and healthy eating, I highly recommend that you check out their store and follow them on Facebook for more promotions and fitness tips.
